Rest,  Refresh,  Reset,  Re-Focus,  Re-Connect

From the moment we open our eyes in the morning, our unending to-do list leads us here and there, pulling our attention in one direction after another, ushering our bodies from one place to the next. Bombarded with all the distractions, demands and pressures of daily life, that causes us to loose focus on what is truth and what is false values and lies.

“So  it is critical that we need to come back to the "True North" of God's Word.  We need to recalibrate by being with God, building our relationship with Him and caring for our souls and spirits before getting out into the workplace again,”

Even Jesus, too, knew what it was like to be busy. During His earthly ministry, He was constantly swamped by the crowds and spent His days healing the sick, feeding the hungry, teaching His disciples and fending off the Pharisees. But He was never too busy to take time out to be with His Father.  Scripture tells us that Jesus regularly retreated to somewhere quiet, away from the hustle and bustle,
to pray and commune with His Father (Matthew 14:23; Mark 1:35; Luke 5:16).

When last have we been doing the same?

The Purpose of a Spiritual Retreat

To give us an opportunity to:
Rest, Refresh, Refocus, Re-connect, Re-calibrate, Renew, Refuel.

It is first and foremost to draw near and into a deepened communion with the Lord. To have peace and quiet to be able to hear His still small voice through His word and the Holy Spirit.

It is intentional and focussed on realigning our hearts with His Heart and His purpose for our lives, and
to lean back into His arms of Rest and Restoration, and deeply breathe in  His Shalom Peace.

The Lord has named me Beloved.  This is who I am.  But here is a little of my story, for you who do not know me.

I went to study Theology & Ministry after matric, but also developed my talent for art on the side.  I worked with teenagers and youth for many years.

I started working at Creare (a training centre in the Arts, Worship and Ministry) in 1996.  I helped to pioneer the Dance and Art Academies.

God totally surprised me by sending me to Russia from 2000-2005 and a few years after that to pioneer a Creare school & ministry through the Arts.

I have also been involved with short term missions and ministry throughout South Africa, Lesotho, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Switzerland, Austria, Romania, Ukraine and Australia.
Today I am the Head for the Art and Word Academies at Creare; teaching and training in the creative arts and Word school (worship, missions, prophetic and the Word); a pastor and event coordinator at Our Father’s Home Church in Bloemfontein; and I use art as a tool to minister to people’s hearts and to refresh their souls.

I am passionate for people to connect with God – to grow in understanding, love and surrender to Him.  I love to draw people to the Beloved of our hearts, Jesus.  God told me that He wants people to come to Rest.

Therefore, I want to invite you to come away and connect with your Beloved and become still.  He wants to quiet us with His Love.
